Government Arts College for Women

Government Arts College For Women, Ramanathapuram was established in 1994 to cater to the educational needs of one of the most backward districts in Tamilnadu. The College has produced consistently excellent results. The students despite their poor economic status are hardworking and perform very well in academic as well as in extra curricular activities. At first the college was started with the Under Graduate courses such as B.Sc., Computer Science , B.SC., Electronics ,B.Sc., Nutrition & Dietetics, and B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship ) . Later , in the year 2009, B. Sc Mathematics was started. In the year 2012, new courses B. Sc .,Chemistry B.A., Tamil and Post Graduate courses M. Sc Computer Science and M. Sc Mathematics was started. The College is functioning in both shifts - Shift I and Shift II and totally around 1200 students are studying in this college .The College has produced a number of University ranks in all courses.
