Our Profile A.P.S. College of Nursing is attractively built on Jalandhar Moga highway in Malsian town. The college is easily assessable by road and the town is also connected by railways to Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Firozepur. The college has a team of well-qualified teachers with rich professional experience background. It has four ventilated and spacious classrooms, library containing latest books, journals and Newspapers, well-equipped laboratories of different departments such as: a) Fundamental of Nursing. b) Nutrition c) Maternal & Child Health Nursing. d) Community Health Nursing. e) Microbiology. f) Anatomy Museum & Lab. g) Computer. Modern teaching techniques are used to facilitate learning such as audiovisual aids and over-head projectors. The college has modern hostel building to accommodate out station students or those want to live in the campus itself. The hostel is maintained well and proper hygienic condition is sustained. It is provided with 24 hour water, electricity supply and security. The hostel has spacious dining hall, and common room with television facilitated with good seating arrangements. Out side the hostel entrance a big lawn is maintained. Additional facilities such as playground, gymnasium and indoor games are also available. In the hostel each room accommodates 2 students with individual closets. PHILOSOPHY OF THE COLLEGE. Primarily the faculty views nursing profession as a modern, dynamic, therapeutic and an educative process. It also meets the health needs of the needy individuals, family and community. Nursing meets the primary health care needs of the patient and renders a great contribution to the related individuals, families and society. It is based upon the science and expertise which moulds the attitudes, intellectual competencies and teaching skills of the individual nursing students into the desire and ability to help the sick people or well to cope with their health needs. The faculty believes that B.Sc. nursing program is both prearranged and casual educational preparation based on liberal knowledge of humanities, psychological, social, biological and physical sciences. Nursing education is a systematic process which needs to be well planned, implemented and evaluated to achieve its goal. The staff believes that professional nursing is acquired in different kinds of health settings. Substantial amount of learning takes place in the clinical area. Correlation between theory and the practice is essential for integrated learning. It is believed that nursing takes place profoundly within the human context of interpersonal relationship. Providing ample opportunities for the personal and social development through co-curricular activities, inculcates a well balanced personality in the students which is a vital thing for a nurse. B.Sc. Nursing program prepares the nurses to be as first level health care providers in the health care system. The program also helps the students to rise further in the profession as there are numerous avenues open in this noble career. ABOUT THE COURSE. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four academic years including compulsory rotation basis internship course. The course is in accordance with the guidelines laid by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
