It is the first homoeopathic medical college in the country identified by the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India as the State Model Homoeopathic College. Initially the name of the college was Govt. Homoeopathic Medical College and hospital which was later renamed as Dr. Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar and also it is the second college in the country to obtain accreditation with the Dept. of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy, Min. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India presently known as AYUSH for research and development in homoeopathy. The herbal garden of the institute situated in the premises of the college covering a land area of 3 acres and developed with the financial assistance of Govt. of India. The beautiful lustrous garden infront of the college building is developed and maintained by SBL Pvt. Ltd. New Delhi.
