Government College

Forty one years are more than enough for any institution to carve out a niche for itself in the field of education. Same is the case with WRS Govt. P.G. College, Dehri which has been making a steady progress right since its inception in the year 1971 as a privately managed institution, named after a legendary freedom fighter and scion of the erstwhile princely state of Nurpur, Wazir Ram Singh. The college was taken over by the Govt. of H.P. in 1984. In the beginning, the college had Arts faculty only. Science and Commerce streams were introduced after it was taken over. Since then the college has been showing excellent results in the field. Academics, sports and co-curricular activities. This institution has a lot scope & potential for future expansion and development given the strength of students (around 2500) and a large span of land (about 200 kanals) that it has. At present it is the biggest college situated in the rural area of H.P. catering to the educational needs of students from at least four assembly constituencies as well as from Punjab also.
