Dr AV Baliga Institute of Social Sciences and Rural Management

Dr. A. V. Baliga Institute of Social Sciences and Rural Management was established in the academic year 2007-08 under the aegis of Dr. A. V. Baliga Charities, Mumbai. The institution is located in a 23-acre campus at Haradi, Brahmavara. A Rural Medical Centre and a Home for Senior Citizens are also located in the same campus. This is an ideal atmosphere for students to develop an interest in Social Work and Community Development. The institution is also supported by Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital (located just 14 kms away) through a Psychiatry Centre, De-addiction Centre, Family Counseling Centre, Child Guidance Clinic, Memory Clinic, Occupational Therapy and OCD Clinic. The main aim of establishing the institution has been to create a "like minded work force to provide counseling services and community oriented development programmes to the society".
