Mar Athanasius College

Mar Athanasius College, a premier institution of higher education in Kerala, was founded in 1955 at Kothamangalam. The college was guided and its character shaped by a group of visionaries led by its first Association Secretary and Principal Prof. M.P Varghese. It is the first institution in Kerala to be accredited (2002) and reaccredited (2010) at ?A Grade? by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of UGC. Adjudged as one of the best colleges in Kerala, Mar Athanasius College was also recognized by the University Grants Commission in 2009 as ?College with Potential for Excellence?. The college is situated in a sprawling composite campus along with its sister institutions, the Mar Athanasius College of Engineering established in the year 1961 and the Mar Athanasius International School established in 1965. Managed by ?Mar Athanasius College Association?, these institutions have a long tradition of imparting value-based holistic education to many generations of students in the Central Travancore region of the state. Together, they have more than 5000 students in their rolls and staff strength of 500.
