Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET) is conducted by JNTUA, Ananthapuramu on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The exam is a gateway for Diploma holders of Engineering Technology/ Pharmacy and BSc Graduates to seek admission under the lateral entry scheme to the 2nd year of BE/ BTech/ BPharmacy Programmes offered at Universities and AICTE/PCI approved Institutions in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

AP ECET 2018 Exam Schedule has been announced. The exam is to be held on May 3, 2018. 

AP ECET 2018 Eligibility

General eligibility criteria to appear for AP ECET:

  • The candidate should be an Indian National.
  • The candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
  • The candidates should possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant BE/ BTech/ BPharmacy courses into the Courses corresponding to the Diplomas.
  • They should have passed the 3-year BSc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses.
  • The candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant BE/BTech/BPharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training prescribed for the award of diploma course before admission into the college.
  • The candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ BSc Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.

Eligibility for Lateral Entry Admission into BE/BTech/BPharm

  • The candidates should have appeared and qualified at the APECET-2018.
  • Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.
  • Admission offered against 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be unreserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
  • The admissions offered under the lateral entry scheme in case of Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority) are 20% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course. In the case of University Colleges, the lateral entry seats are 10% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course.
  • While filling up the lateral entry seats based on the APECET-2018 ranks, BSc(Mathematics) stream students will be considered for admission only after exhausting all the qualified diploma holders.

A Common Entrance Test designated in full as Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders and for B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree Holders and in short as APECET 2017 will be conducted by JNT University Anantapur on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education for the academic year 2017-2018 in accordance with G.O.Ms.No:24 Education (EC) Department dated:18.03.2004, G.O.Ms.No:25, dated:28.06.2006 and G.O.Ms.No:19, dated: 02.02.2008 For Diploma Holders and G.O.Ms.No.57(EC2) dated:12.05.2008 & G.O.Ms.No58(EC2) dated:12.05.2008 for B.Sc.(Mathematics) degree holders.)

  1. For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.E. and B.Tech. Courses in University engineering colleges to the extent of 10% of over and above sanctioned intake and in All India Council for Technical Education approved Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority) to the extent of 20% of over and above sanctioned intake for Diploma holders and B.Sc degree holders for the academic year 2017-18.
  2. For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.Pharmacy Courses as approved by Pharmacy Council of India in university colleges to the extent of 10% of over and above sanctioned intake and in Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority) to the extent of 20% of over and above sanctioned intake for the seats specifically earmarked for Diploma holders for the academic year 2017-18.The candidates with B.Sc. degree are not eligible for admission into pharmacy course. 

ELIGIBILITY FOR WRITING THE TEST

The Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for ECET: 

  • They should be of Indian Nationality
  • They should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended. 
  • They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma from an AICTE approved institution recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharmacy courses into the Courses corresponding to the Diplomas as given in the following Annexure.

(OR) 

  • They should have passed the 3-year B.Sc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses as given in the following Annexure. 
  • Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant B.E./B.Tech./ B. Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the prescribed course and passed all the subjects for the award of diploma course before admission into the college.
  • Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.

AP ECET Counselling 2018

Candidates who qualify in A.P-ECET-2018 (Diploma holders of all branches of engineering and Pharmacy & B.Sc. Maths) will be informed that admission into University and Private Engineering Colleges and Pharmacy Colleges will be conducted based on Web Counseling. The detailed procedure of Web counseling and other instructions can be had from the Help Line centres on the day of Certificate Verification.

The Qualified candidates of AP ECET-2018 (Diploma holders of all branches of engineering and Pharmacy & B.Sc. Maths) from Rank 1 to Last who will attend the certificate verificat using their old password and Login Id for the seats available and consequential vacancies that may arise in the process of allotment from any Help Line Centre or Internet facility (Cafe/Home).The candidates who have not attended certificate verification so far can get their certificates verified from any one of the Help Line Centres and exercises options immediately after certificates verification.

SUBMISSION OF ONILE APPLICATION

  1. For registration and submission of online application the aspiring candidates have to visit the web site www.sche.ap.gov.in/ecet 
  2. All the details required such as qualifying examination (diploma or degree as the case may be ) hall ticket number, SSC or 10th class hall ticket number, places of study from 6th class onwards, caste categoryMee seva Cerificate number, Income certificate-Mee seva certificate number, good quality passport size photograph in .jpg or .jpeg format of 50Kb size, scanned image of Signature affixed with a black pen on a white paper in .jpg or .jpeg format of 30Kb size, Ration card of the family, Aadhar card of self in the application form shall be entered in the specified fields.
  3.  The Aadhar Card number of the candidate is mandatory
  4. The payment of the registration fee can be done online through AP Online services or Payment Gateway provided ( through Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net banking).

Evaluation and ranking in APECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2018

  1. The student will be ranked (Integrated Merit Rank) based on the marks obtained by him/her in the APECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2017 Examination.
  2. Every care will be taken to avoid errors in valuation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and ranking. Hence request for re-totalling and revaluation will in no case be entertained. Candidates will be ranked in the order of merit in APECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2017 separately in each branch of Engineering Course 
  3. ) As per Government Order all Diploma holders in any branch of Engineering/Technology, who qualify in APECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2017 are eligible for admission into B.Tech. Information Technology and Computer Science and Engineering branches. The Integrated Merit Rank is for admission into B.Tech. Information Technology Course. The Integrated Merit Rank is based on the total marks obtained in APECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2017 by candidates with Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology.
  4. Resolving Tie in Engineering Stream: In case of a tie in aggregate, the marks obtained in Engineering subject, and in case of further tie the marks obtained in the Mathematics subject and if the tie still continues, the marks obtained in physics subject will be taken into account to decide the relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the four subjects, they will be bracketed for the purpose of award of rank. Age of the candidate will be considered at the time of admission for resolving the tie, the older candidate being given preference.
  5. Resolvng Tie in B.Sc.(Mathematics) Stream : Candidates will be ranked based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination. In case of a tie in aggregate, the marks obtained in Mathematics subject and in case of further tie the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination shall be taken into account to resolve the tie.
  6. Resolvng Tie in Pharmacy Stream: In case of tie the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination will be taken into consideration. On further tie, age will be taken into consideration; the older candidate will be given priority.

Allotment List

Final Allotment List will be released by the APSCHE. The candidates, with allotment order, have to report through Self-reporting system and report at the allotted college also.

These two stages are mandatory and mere reporting through self-reporting or reporting at the college is alone not sufficient to retain a seat.

If in case a candidate fails to report through self-reporting and reporting at the allotted college by the dates stipulated, the allotment stands cancelled and candidate will have no claim for further allotment of seats.

Given below is the list of documents to be produced at the time of reporting.

  1.       A.P-ECET-2018 Rank card and Hall Ticket.
  2.       Memorandum of Marks ( all three years for diploma holders and all two years for pharmacy)
  3.       Provisional Diploma Certificate.
  4.       Proof of Date of Birth (SSC or its Equivalent).
  5.       Study Certificate from IV to Diploma
  6.       Residence certificate for preceding 7 years of the Qualifying examination i.e. Diploma.
  7.       Andhra Pradesh Residence Certificate of father/mother for a period of 10 years excluding the period of employment outside Andhra Pradesh from Tahsildar in respect of Non-Local Candidates.
  8.       Aadhar card
  9.       Integrated Community Certificate, in case of BC/ST/SC issued by the competent authority
  10.   Income certificate of parents from all sources issued on or after 01.01.2018.
  11.   Candidates claiming reservation under NCC/Sports/ PH/ CAP shall bring the original certificates. PH Candidates shall submit certificate issued by the District Medical Board. CAP Candidates shall submit Certificates from the Zilla Sainik Welfare Board (viz) Discharge book Identity card etc for Verification. Children of Ex-Service and In-Service persons who are domicile of Andhra Pradesh will alone be considered for allotment of seats under CAP Category.
  12.   The Muslim and Christian Minority Candidates should bring TC of the SSC containing the Religion (Muslim/Christian/Other linguistic) or in the absence of TC, a Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution in which the student studied/appeared for SSC or its equivalent Examination. The Candidates of SC/ST category have to pay Rs. 500/-each While OC/BC/Minority candidates have to pay Rs.1000/-each towards Processing Fee.
  13.   In addition, every candidate has to pay tuition fee as prescribed by the Govt. The SC/ST candidates are eligible for reimbursement of Tuition fee if parental income from all sources is up to rupees two lakhs per annum and all other category candidates whose parental income from all sources is up to rupees one lakh per annum are eligible for reimbursement of Tuition Fee and also as per the guidelines issued by Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time.

Note 1: The candidate passed from boards of examination other than SBTET shall submit equivalence certificate from SBTET.

Note 2: Only the candidates who have secured 45% (For OC) and 40% (SC/ST/BC) aggregate marks in Diploma or BSc Degree Examination are eligible for admission.

Note 3: BSc (Maths) candidates will be considered for allotment of seats after exhausting all the Eligible Diploma candidates in the merit list in terms of G.O.Ms.No.49, Higher Education, EC-II Dept, Dated: 04.06.2011.

Steps to download AP ECET 2018 admit card

  • The candidates will have to visit the official website and click on the “Download Admit Card Tab”

  • On clicking a dialogue box will appear, asking you to enter the registration number and qualifying examination hall ticket number as provided to the candidate after successful completion of the application process.

  • On entering the correct details, click on “Get Hall Ticket” button to download the admit card.

  • When notified for the release of AP ECET 2018 results, the candidates will have to visit the official website in order to check their result.
