SET SLIET Entrance Test

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test conducted for admissions to various undergraduate programmes offered by Institutes of Symbiosis International University. Through SET 2017, the engineering aspirants can take admission into Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), which offer courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.

SIT also offer admission to students through their JEE Main or MHCET scores. SET 2017 exam dates have been announced. The exam will be held on May 6 in 2017. 

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for SET 2017 is different for Indian students and International Students. Here are the details on eligibility criteria for the exam.

Indian Students

  • Applicants must pass 10+2 exams with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

  • He/she must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.

  • Good score in an entrance examination like SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test), JEE-Main or MHT-CET conducted in the year 2017

International Students

It includes foreign nationals/non resident Indians/PIO

  • Anybody who has passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

  • Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together. Do not have to appear for entrance exam (SET/JEE-Main/MHT-CET) in India.

  • The eligibility criteria for International students is followed as per Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) norms.

Following steps will help students to apply for SET 2017 successfully:

STEP 1

A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session; viz, Law or Design and one paper from the afternoon session; viz, General or Engineering or Health Sciences. Register at http://www.set-test.org This will generate your SET ID.

For Engineering and Health Sciences, a candidate need not register for SET if he / she wishes to offer scores of entrance tests other than SET such as JEE(Main). Such candidates may apply directly to the preferred institute, this is also applicable for SSCA (Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts) score of NCHMCT-JEE is accepted

You must to upload your latest scanned photograph (in the required format and size) at the time of online registration.

STEP 2

Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1500/- towards the test fee

Candidates have the option of paying through any one of the following five (5) payment methods:

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD:

  •  You may pay directly through either Master or Visa card online. Follow the instructions given on the SET Website.

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING:

  •  You may transfer your SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option.

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH INDIAN BANK NET BANKING:

  • You may pay your SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account. You can also pay the application fee for various institutes through Indian Bank Internet Banking option.

CASH:

  • This 'Payment Advice' form is presented in three parts. Pay Rs. 1500/- in cash at Axis Bank or Indian Bank branches in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the Website. The bank will return two parts of the ‘payment advice’ form to you. The ‘student copy’ is your receipt.

DEMAND DRAFT:

  • Get a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1500/- from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.
