R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur was started on 15th June 1960 and celebrating its ?Golden Jubilee Year?. R.B.N.B college has imprited its own conspicuous mark in University of Pune.The college initiates in starting new courses to meet the needs of this region. It has successfully implemented its educational plans, keeping its aims and objectives along with vision. R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College is one of the leading colleges offering the best learning practices and emphasizing on quality Education to the students. In the age of ICT, hard information or subject knowledge alone cannot make one a good teacher. On the contrary, teachers should develop their teaching skills and serve as facilitators to their students. The college gives emphasis on co-curricular activities for the holistic development of the students to face the undaunted task of future. The aim of curricular activities is to make the students fit for the future and to develop in them a sense of competitive spirit, cooperation, leadership, punctuality and team spirit. The college has functional Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) established on 15/07/2005. The IQAC plans for academic, administrative and financial improvement of the college. The cell is instrumental in planning for many new courses and boosting research activities among students and faculty. The college is accredited A Grade by NAAC. College have taken serious efforts on the suggestions made by the peer team of NAAC to provide quality education and the college has planned accordingly to overcome the weaknesses. In the last six years, college has started new programmes like M. Sc. Computer Science, M. Sc. Analytical Chemistry, additional division of M. Sc. Organic Chemistry, M. A. / M. Sc. Geography, Diploma in Dairy Chemistry, and special programmes like Soft Skill Development, and several certificate and career oriented courses. Besides these, a virtual learning centre facilitates the coaching of competitive examinations and a beauty palour provides the skills of makeup and more services. R.B.N.B college has developed well furnished infrastructural facilities to cope up with increasing number of students and their demands. Infrastructure facilities such as ladies common room, two women?s hostels, two separate classroom complexes and administrative block were built since last accreditation. The college has taken initiative in the extension of Physics, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science, Chemistry laboratories, library, parking stand, storehouse for chemistry and toilet blocks for gents and ladies. Provision of drinking water tank, generator etc is also taken into consideration. R.B.N.B college have beautiful campus with lush green ambience including a teak project, tamarind project, ornamentals and a botanical garden with some rare and endangered species of plants. College takes a great pride over its past achievements and present progress. The computerized central library is the pride of college that provides internet facilities, e-books & e-journals to the students, staff and society. Every year, a substantial stock of books is added to the library. The college, Principal and some members of Local Managing Committee and staff have received various prestigious awards, prizes and honours in the last six years. The most prominent are Best College Award (2007-08) from University of Pune, Rayat Mauli Puraskar (2007-08) from Rayat Shikahan Sanstha, Satara, Best Principal Award (2008-09) & Best Non Teaching Staff Award (2007-08) from University of Pune. In addition to this, Chairman Adv. Raosaheb Shinde and other members of LMC as well as faculty have received many prestigious awards.
