MVP Samaj's College of Architecture and Centre for Design

The Maratha Vidya Prasarak samaj is one of the premier educational institutions in Maharashtra, inspired by social reformers like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati of Kolhapur and Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar. The M.V.P. Samaj was established by the Late Raosaheb Thorat, Ganpat Dada More, D.R. Bhonsale, Vitthalrao Kandalaskar and Kirtivantrao Nimbalkar in 1914. The academic year 2014-15 is the centenary year that is 100 years of existence of M.V.P.Samaj's educational hub. The institution further flourished under the leadership of Late Bhausaheb Hiray, Padmashree Kakasaheb Wagh and Annasaheb Murkute. Having taken the egalitarian task of educating the masses, the institution has rendered rare social service to the cause of education. After independence, the educational needs of people changed and so did the policies of the Samaj. The Samaj now runs 78 Pre Primary and Primary schools, 146 Secondary Schools, 18 Hostels, 2 Junior Training Colleges, 49 Higher Secondary Schools, 11 Degree Colleges, 8 I.T.I. colleges, Medical College, Engineering College, College of Architecture and Center for Design, College of Pharmacy, College of Education, College of Physical Education, School of Fine Arts, Printing Press and 4 Management Institutes. The M.V.P. Samaj is one of the largest educational institutions in India, which caters to the demand in North Maharashtra. The total strength of students in the branches of the Samaj is 1,93,990.
