Association for Sarva Seva Farms ? ASSEFA in short is a registered voluntary organization of National standing involved in integrated rural development with Sarvodaya ?Unto the last? as its guiding philosophy. It was established in the year 1969 and is on its mission for the past 40 years. Its strategy in the beginning was confined to the development of Bhoodan and Gramdan families. ASSEFA has extended its area for development over the years taking a block as a whole as unit for a development project. Currently ASSEFA is operating 42 such development projects covering 52 blocks in 9 states of India. ASSEFA involves in integrated rural development programmes for the holistic development of the rural poor. The Education programme of ASSEFA was started in the year 1978 to provide basic education and teach lessons on Yoga and vocational subjects also to the children of the target groups in the rural interiors. ASSEFA Education programme supports 56,867 children with the support of 1663 qualified and experienced teachers and non-teaching workers. ASSEFA schools are known well in their surrounding for the high standard of Education providing and maintenance of discipline and development of decent behavioral habits among the children. ASSEFA Education programme is going on for the past 30 years with Primary, High School, Higher Secondary schools with state board syllabus, matriculation schools, Institute of Training Centre. Now ASSEFA wishes to qualify all the teachers who are working in ASSEFA schools. Hence the establishment of the College of Education is necessary. The ASSEFA College of Education is established in Silarpatti village to provide opportunity for the rural candidates.
