Bhai Nagahia Singh Memorial Girls College

This college is run and managed by Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Education Trust Alamgir, which was known as Hargobind Education Trust, Alamgir earlier. The first meeting for this college was called on 19, 1989 at Gurudawara Manji Sahib Alamgir and resolved to start the functioning of this college from Govt. High School, Hargobindpur by upgrading it to10+2 classes . Fulfilling the pending long - cherished demand of this area to save the students from the urban difficulties, the Trust took the decision to start degree level study for girls only in the school campus in1992. Then the foundation stone of this proper institution was laid down by the D.C. of Ludhiana , Mr.T.R.Sarangal on 15th October 1995 in village Alamgir. Shri Gurcharan Singh Tohra (President Shromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee) inaugurated the Arts Block of the college on 24th March 1996.To encourage the young aspirant and to improve the educational standard of this rural area the First Prize Distribution Function was hosted by the Trust on 25th September 1993 by giving cash prizes to the topper of near by schools , which is now being held every year. The college got affiliation for the degree classes from the Punjab University, Chandigarh w.e.f. 2006-07 session.
