Sahyadri Shikshan Sanstha, Sawarde is one of the leading educational institute of Konkan region established by Hon. Late Govindraoji Nikam in 1957. At present, the institute is running 35 secondary schools, 6 Jr. Colleges and 15 Colleges ( viz. Pharmacy Degree and Diploma, D.Ed. and B.Ed. College, College of Fine Art, Polytechnic, Industrial Training Centre, etc.) which provides the professional education to the rural youth. Besides it, Institute has established an Agricultural Division at Kharawate-Dahiwali, 6 km away from Sawarde (On Mumbai-Goa Highway) in Chiplun Taluka. It includes Sharadchandraji Pawar College of Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology, College of Agril. Biotechnology and a diploma course- D. G. Tatkare Krishi Tantra Vidyalaya. All the four colleges are located in one beautiful building well equipped with required facilities. These colleges have vast area of 300 acres having well established agricultural projects and plantations of fruit crops, spices, vegetable crops, medicinal plants, ornamentals, etc. Here students come from all over Maharashtra and study in different disciplines in a beautiful and pollution free campus in friendly and studious atmosphere. All the colleges have well equipped laboratories, educational audio visual facilities and play ground. Separate Hostel facility for boys and girls students is available. All the colleges are affiliated to well known and prestigious Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli. For all the colleges the admission is online with XIIth science pass having PCB group.
