Dr. Sashi Bhushan Institute of Education

Dr.Sashi Bhushan Institute of Education, Hailakandi was established in 1996. The college is functioning under the sponsorship of Foundation for Education & Social Welfare Trust. The college found its recognition from the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) in 2001. Initially the college was located at Ratan Pur Road and later it was shifted to Boalipar, Hailakandi. The college offers all the necessary facilities in its campus. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, established in 1948 under the Guwahati University Act 1947. This is the first university of North East India. This university catered to the needs of all the students from Bengal, Bihar, Orissa and Assam. The University has been accredited with a 4 star rating by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is funded by the University Grants Commission and the Government of Assam for research and other academic activities.
