Medical Gujarat, Baroda was founded by Sir Pratapsingh Gaekwad in 1949. The college was affiliated to Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and recognized by the Medical Council of India The college started with a batch of 40 students The college is associated with Sir Sayajirao General Hospital The College and Hospital consists an area of 36 acre campus located in Central Baroda, 1km from the Vadodara Railway & Bus Stations and 3km from the Vadodara airport The Medical College campus also houses the 61 Physiotherapy College and the 61 Nursing College which train students for B.Sc (Physiotherapy) and B.Sc (Nursing courses) respectively The Pre and Para clinical departments of the college support all the clinical departments in providing treatment for practically all types of medical conditions The hospital has bed strength of 1377
