Boasting of a sprawling campus of 20 acres, surrounded by alluring hills delightful greenery, situated in the North-East direction of District Ambala, Govt. College, Naraingarh has entered the 31 year of its service as it has been disseminating education and knowledge of the students having rural as well as poor background of this area, since its inception in 1981. The college started initially with two streams ? Arts & Commerce with a few students. The Science faculty was added up to the institution during the session 1992-93. The computer as a subject and M.Com-1st semester were started in the session 2009-10. Now the college has assumed the position of a renowned institution with very high qualitative output. Presently the college has strength of 1677 students with 662 boys and 1015 girls. The college is rendering service to 426 SC students and 729 BC students. Poor back ground has never been a barrier for the students of this college as they have almost always maintained the tradition of securing top positions in the final exams conducted by KUK and thus brought laurels to this area. The college has the privilege of capturing 1st, 3rd, 4th positions of the University in the three faculties and proved a leader in the area of Panchkula, Kalka and Ambala among Government Colleges in the field of academics. The college has created history by capturing highest number of university positions in the Kurukshetra University among Government colleges of Haryana when the university results of BA/B.Sc-III were declared in July/August, 2009. Ms. Geeta Dahiya of B.Sc-III & Ms. Soni Chaudhary of BA-III fetched the 6th University position in the University. In M.Com-1st semester 30 students appeared in the University Exam held in Dec., 2009 and out of 30 students 22 students got the 1st division and the remaining 8 students got 2nd division and none failed. Similarly 29 students appeared in M.Com 2nd semester in May, 2010 and out of 29 students 20 students got 1st division and the remaining got 2nd division and none failed. Such a good result can hardly be found in other colleges of Haryana. There are 13 well equipped laboratories, 23 Class rooms, 5 lecture theaters including Edusat room. Principal residence has been occupied and the Library block and 16 staff quarters will be ready shortly for occupation. The Multipurpose Hall and the conference hall are structurally ready and occupied, however sound proofing/false ceiling and lighting on the stage and fixing of furniture in the multipurpose hall are still to be done. Similarly, the furnishing of conference hall is yet to be done. These two cases have been sent to the Director General Higher Education, Haryana for approval.
