Govt. College for Girls, Panchkula founded in 2007, has now spread its wings to provide conducive environment for all-round development of personality, for channelization of talents and for sublimation of instincts of the students. The college, with strength of 1741 girls in 2014-15, offers streams like Arts, Science, Commerce, BCA, BBA and B.Sc. (Home Science). There are ultra-modern and well-equipped Laboratories in the department of Home-Science, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Psychology, Geography and Music (Vocal) There are 3 smart class-rooms, 5 A.C. Computer Labs for compulsory computer education and BCA students. The college can boast of its awesome building spread over a vast area of 13 acres, lush-green campus, well equipped Computerized Library, Multipurpose Auditorium for national, inter-national seminars and cultural events, a seminar-hall with projector and power-point presentation facility etc. The Hostel building has capacity to accommodate 90 Girls. There are 40 well-experienced, highly qualified and competent staff-members who make the campus pulsate with cultural, sports, academic, job-oriented activities to expand mental horizons of the students with many Govt. schemes, scholarships, and activities like NCC, NSS, Women Cell, Legal Cell, every student gets a platform to come out with her very best.
