Panigaon Om Prakash Dinodia College

Panigaon Om Prakash Dinodia College was established in 1984 in this economically backward and flood affected area of Lakhimpur district. The College also covers the students from the river island Majuli. Presently we have only the single Arts stream covering both Higher Secondary and Degree courses having present enrollment around 700. Almost 85 per cent of our total students belong to the SCs, STs, OBCs and Minorities. Around 80 per cent students of the College are from poor families. Although our college is located in a remote and economically backward area of the district, we are not lagging behind in comparison to the other institutions of the region. Gradually we are developing our infrastructural facilities. As per our physical plan, we are able to create some capital assets in the college in the form of well furnished Teachers? Common room, well spacious Girls? Common Room with toilet and sitting arrangements, Computer Centre with Internet facilities, Education Laboratory with new equipments, partial installation of audio-visual system in Class Rooms, a new College Canteen, an Indoor stadium, development of outdoor sports complex with sports gallery etc. during the period of last two and half years.Utilizing the MPLAD fund of Rs. Five Lac, a well accommodated Conference Hall is under construction and attempt is made to complete it shortly.
