Puthimari College

Puthimari College, a premier institution of higher education in Puthimari area was established on August5, 1981. Being situated on the bank of river Puthimari in Kamrup(R), the backward transportation and communication system hinders the college in its prosperity. This clearly shows that higher education was beyond the dream of the area. As good luck would have it, the emergence of the College by the Puthimari River comes forward to fulfill the long-felt thirst for higher education of the young generation. Presently, the academic activities of the institution widen beyond the territory of the district. It is now acknowledged as one of the pioneers of higher education in Assam. Meanwhile, the College has achieved "B" grade in NAAC Re-accreditation in 2012. The College stands at Soneswar by the Puthimari River in the district of Kamrup. It is only 40km away to the north of Guwahati, the capital city of Assam.31 No National Highway connects the college by a PDW road at Bihata. It is in a sylvan area with the Puthimari River in the West and the wetland of Alta in the east.
