It is only at the rarest of rare moments in time that the contemplative and visionary energy of a seer, the moral jeal of saint and the pragmatism of a scientist meet and harmonies in one single human personality Dr. Inderdev, the illustrious and immortal founder principal of the Sri Mahanth Ramashray Das Post Graduate College, Bhurakura was one such personality who successfully gleaned the best fruits of a movement of ideas, achieved the unique distinction of translating his most passionate dream into reality in his own life and lived to see it grow from glory to glory. The vast campus with its beautiful landscape in the living monument to one of the greatest dreamers that rural India has produced. He convinced of this college not only as a centre of teaching and learning but also an instrumental of inculcating the highest ideals of living both in the teachers and the pupils. The college started functioning from the session 1972-73 with the affiliation of Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur.After establishment of the Purvanchal University Jaunpur in 1987, College is affiliated with this University The entire area of land on which it stands at present was donated by Mahanth sri Ramashrey Das Ji who was the founder president of the college till his passing away. There is a grand library, the spacious hostels for both boys and girls, beautiful pond know as Vimal Sarovar and the majestic eminence of the Saraswati Temple in the heart of the college are some eye catching features of the campus. The college landscape is dotted with many other imposing things. Its playground and well-maintained "Ram Karan Singh Rang Shala' is the envy of other colleges. The college is 3 km away from the railway station Jakhanian. The statutes of VBSPU will be treated as applicable to all academic activities. The college is the result of renowned Satanami Tradition of Bhurkura monastery.
