Tamizhan College of Engineering and Technology (TCET), Tamizahan Nagar Chenbagaramanputhoor, was established in the year 2008 by Mr.K. Thirukadaluthayam, as its Chairman and Mrs.D. Annie Sophia Rexline, B.A, L.L.B as its Vice Chairman. The College is promoted by Ponkasi Uthayam Educational & Charitable Trust. The Chairman and Vice Chairman ventured into realm of providing quality technical education to both urban and rural students. The college is functioning in a sprawling campus of 27 acres. The College buildings are architectural designed with 80,000 m2 plinth area. TCET is acclaimed throughout India for its quality in teaching and research. Being one of the largest Engineering College in India it lays emphasis one innovative research, investment in high-quality facilities and first-rate infrastructure. By making use of the latest technologies and quality teaching, the college is able to offer a wide choice of interdisciplinary degrees in engineering. The college is affiliated to Anna University Chennai and is offering six UG degree courses (Computer Science and Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering) and six PG course (M.E ? Applied Electronics, Computer Science Engineering, Energy Engineering ,Construction Engineering & Management, CAD / CAM Engineering and Power System Engineering). The college is located in a serene campus at chenbagaramanputhoor which is at a distance of 12 Km from Nagercoil. The quality of the students admitted for our programmes is good. The students are being trained right from the second semester in communication skills. They are also given technical value addition in relevant areas of interest to make them industry ready. The internship in industries are part of the B.E/ B.Tech curricula and the students intern with the industries like ? Pricol Technologies, L&T, Health Care Innovation Center- IIT Park, Paxterra Solutions, Ashok Leyland, TAFE, TVS, Ford India Pvt. Ltd., and Mahindra and Mahindra for a period of 3 to 6 months. The placement record of the students is appreciable with an annual campus recruitment of about 82%.The students have been placed in premier organizations like ? Saint Gobain, Sanmar group of companies, Murugappa group, L &T along with all the IT majors - Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and so on. The alumni working in various positions contribute to the Alma matter through a very strong alumni network and alumni chapters at Chennai and Bangalore
