Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs. The States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2017 application form online.

  • There will be two papers in the exam. Paper 1 will be conducted for candidates looking for admission to B.E/B.Tech program whereas; paper 2 will be organized for admission to B.Arch/B.Planning.

  • Paper 1 will be conducted in online as well as offline mode whereas; paper 2 will be conducted only in offline mode.

  • Paper 1 will have only objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics whereas, there will be three parts in the paper 2. The part 1 will contain questions from Mathematics, part 2 will have objective type questions on Aptitude skill and part 3 will be a drawing test.

  • ¼ marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Step 1: It contains form filling and online registration.

  • Interested applicants are required to visit the official link of JEE Main i.e. http://jeemain.nic.in.
  • Now register yourself by entering all required details properly and attentively.
  • Create a password as per your suitability and keep it safe for future reference.
  • Next process of verifying the details entered by you and then submit the first part of your JEE Main 2016 application form.
  • After submitting the first part a unique application number will be generated by candidates.

Step 2it contains uploading your signature, recent photograph and thumb impressions as per the format prescribed in the application form.

  • In the next step not you are required to enter your unique application number and password.
  • Now upload 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm scanned passport size photograph in JPGE format. The size of photograph should be in between 4 kb to 40 kb.
  • Next upload 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm scanned signature in JPGE format. The size of signature should be in between 1 kb to 30 kb.
  • Next upload 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm scanned thumb impression in JPGE format. The size of signature should be in between 1 kb to 30 kb.
  • Finally verify all details and then submit.

Step 3: It contains payment of mentioned application fee.

  • Candidates can select e-challan, debit/credit card for doing the payment of application fee.
  • In case you have opted submission of payment through Debit Card or Credit Card, choose for save payment gateway.
  • In case candidates are going to do the payment of application fee through e-challan they need to download the e-challan and pay the application fee either through Syndicate bank, HDFC bank, Canara bank or ICICI bank.
  • After doing a successful payment of application fee, keep copy of acknowledgement page safe.

It is must to complete all three above mentioned steps properly as this is the first step to get your dream true. It is also advised to keep following documents ready before initiating the submission of application form:

  • Class X and XII mark sheet.
  • Certificate of Domicile/Community/Caste (if necessary)
  • Keep these documents along with you such as signature, passport size photograph and thumb impression (For male candidates left thumb impression and for female candidates right thumb impression)
  • If necessary, please keep Debit card or Credit card with you.

Part – I

Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials.) Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build—environment. Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings. Visualising. different sides of three dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).

Part - II

Three dimensional - perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. JEE Main 2017 Cut-Off

The CBSE Board will release the cut-off through online process. The cut-off will be the minimum marks required to appear in the JEE Advanced exam. Cut-off marks will depend upon several factors such as exam difficulty level and number of students appeared in the examination.
