Inviting Applications for the post of Diploma Trainees

Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited (BRBCL), is a subsidiary company of NTPC LTD. with an under construction capacity of 1000 MW in the Aurangabad district of Bihar.

Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL), is a subsidiary company of NTPC LTD. with a capacity of 220 MW and an under construction capacity of 390 MW at Muzaffarpur, Bihar

Nabinagar Power Generating Company Private Limited (NPGCL), is a Joint Venture company of NTPC LTD., NPGCL and BSPGC Limited with an under construction capacity of 1980 MW. 

Applications are invited from energetic young Diploma Engineers with brilliant academic record to join BRBCL, KBUNL and NPGCL through a common written test and a common skill test. The final placement of the candidates in these companies shall be done on merit-cum-choice of the selected candidates, which shall be final and immutable once the offer of appointments are issued. 

Candidates may note that the recruitment of Diploma Trainees is being done exclusively for BRBCL, KBUNL and NPGCL. The selected candidates shall have no claim in NTPC Limited, whatsoever. The candidates will be permanent employees of these respective companies.

Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of 1(one) year in the company in which they are placed, and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.15,500/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in the pay scale of Rs. 15500-3%-34500/- (W7 grade, Jr. Foreman / Jr. Controller / Jr. Work Assistant) in their respective company. They shall be regularized on the rolls of their respective organization after successful completion of their training. Selected candidates shall be governed by the service rules of the company in which they are placed viz: BRBCL/NPGC/KBUNL 


Upper Age limit is 25 years as on last date of application. For Land Oustees upper age limit is 35 years as on last date of application. For details of relaxations extended to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XSM may kindly refer to the reservations and relaxations section in the next page.




Electrical Full time regular three yrs. Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 70% marks. 
Mechanical Full time regular three yrs. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 70% marks
C&I Full time regular three yrs. Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering with minimum 70% marks. 
Civil Full time regular three yrs. Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 70% marks

Relaxation for SC/ST/PWD (where vacancies are identified): Pass marks

Relaxation for Land Oustees: 50% marks.

*Note: Only those candidates who possess the required qualification on or before the last date of application are eligible to apply. Candidates with higher qualifications need not apply. 


  • Reservations and relaxations for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) /XSM / PWD (degree of disability 40% or above) candidates will be provided as per Government guidelines. Relaxations will be extended in vacancies identified for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / PWD candidates.
  • Category once filled in the online application form will not be changed and no benefit of other category will be admissible later on.
  • No registration fee will be charged from SC/ST/PWD/XSM candidates.
  • The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. It is relaxed by 10 years for PWDGeneral, 13 years for PWD-OBC and 15 years for PWD-SC/ST candidates.
  • The OBC candidates who belong to “Creamy Layer” are not entitled for OBC concession and such candidates have to indicate their category as General. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit requisite certificate in prescribed format of Government of India, from a competent authority issued in the current year. Further, such candidates will have to give a self-undertaking indicating that they belong to OBC (Non creamy Layer) category at the time of skill test, if called for.
  • Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89. Age relaxation will be applicable for XSM as per Government guidelines.

Candidates have to choose a city as Test Centre and no change under any circumstance will be considered subsequently. However, BRBCL/KBUNL/NPGCL reserve the right to cancel or add any centre depending on the response of the candidates for that area / center.

Based on the merit and requirement, the list of successful candidates for appearing in skill test will be made available at http://jvdtcareers.net All such short listed candidates will have to appear for skill test for which they have to download the admit card from the same website. No other communication will be sent to such candidates through post. 

How to Apply

  • Eligible candidates have to apply through online registration system only. To apply visit: http://jvdtcareers.net with your valid e-mail ID. The site is functional from 10.00 hours of 27.03.2017 to midnight of 26.04.2017. 
  • Candidate belonging to General/OBC category is required to pay a nonrefundable registration fee of Rs 300/-. The SC/ ST/ PWD/ XSM candidates need not pay the registration fee. 
  • State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee, in the following account number (A/C NO. 30631536632) at MLC branch (IFSC Code: SBIN0007506), Patna, on behalf of BRBCL/KBUNL/NPGCL. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” which is available on the application registration portal http://jvdtcareers.net The pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. This journal number and the branch code are to be filled up by the candidate during online registration. Bank commission charges will be borne by the candidate. In case the candidate deposits the fee in a wrong account, BRBCL/KBUNL/NPGCL will not be responsible. There will not be any other mode of money collection. Registration fee deposited after 26.04.2017 will not be valid.
  • Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore requested to verify their eligibility before paying the application fee. 
  • All successfully enrolled eligible candidates will be allowed to download the admit card from the site http://jvdtcareers.net. Please note that the admit card will not be sent by post. 
  • Candidates are informed that scanned copies of photograph & pay-in slip are required to be uploaded while applying for the post online. The pay-in slip is required to be uploaded by General and OBC candidates only; whereas all candidates including SC/ST, PWD and XSM have to upload their photos while applying on-line

  • Candidates employed with Government Departments / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies have to produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of Skill test. Please note that without NOC, such candidates will not be allowed to appear in the skill test.
