HIMACHAL Institute of Technology (HIT) is a moderate beginning in the field of Technical Education. It has long been felt that there is an acute shortage of Graduate Engineers in the country. It was in this view that Dr. Puran Chand Medical Charitable Trust has decided to establish this Institute. The Trust established its first medical College namely Himachal Dental College, Sundernagar in 1993 and thereafter a chain of seven professional institutions is serving the society includingHIT which is the consequence of such a vision. The Institute is duly approved by the State Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, a statutory body of Govt. of India and affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur to run four year B.Tech. Degree courses HIT is situated in a pollution free environment and green habitat adjacent to Paonta Sahib in front to HIDS on Rampur Ghat Road providing easy access for lifelong learning, an environment for innovation, intellectual pursuits and leadership in the economic, cultural and intellectual evolution of our community
