Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in the year 2008, by the group of dedicated and technical professionals with the primary aim to provide quality technicaleducation to the students of Odisha. The promoters of this group enjoy high ranking in the educational field and have already carved a niche for themselves in revolutionizing technical education in the state of Odisha by their practical oriented approach in teaching and its applicability to the industry. Maharaja institute of Technology was started with the sufficient infrastructure and facilities and the campus is a self-sufficient enclave with a number of conveniences thoughtfully provided by the college authorities. The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, offers under-graduate programmes in six branches of engineering namely, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Comp Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
