Farook Arts and Science College

FAROOK ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE was started in the year 2005 as an unaided college affiliated to the University of Calicut under the management of a charitable society namely FAROOK EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY that manages a host of govt. recognized educational institutions under it. The college is barely one kilometre away from the Chenguvetty junction and is easily accessible by road The sanction and affiliation for the college was granted in the year 2005 by the government and the university, and thus three courses were sanctioned by the university. The College is at present offering 8 under graduate courses and 3 post graduate courses. The college has qualified teaching faculty in all the departments. The number of teaching staff is 50 and non- teaching staff 10. As we are young college, full of zeal and ambitions, we are marching towards heights of excellence in the process of imbibing education among potent minds. We have skilfully formulated long term as well as short-term plans for academic, curricular,extra-curricular and extension activities in accordance with the principles of holistic development of students. There are good computer labs, laboratories and a computerised library having internet facility. The library is digitalising the resources available from web libraries. Besides, there is a text book library with internet facility providing access to web libraries like INFLIBNET. Journals and periodicals are also subscribed. Facilities for extracurricular activities and play grounds are also set for various sports activities. Bus facility and hostel facilities are available for girl students. Canteen facility also is provided. The college expects to initiate new courses, modernize its infrastructure, and improve the quality of its faculty and evaluation procedures so that it can produce not only a globally competitive workforce but also graduates of repute. Our members of the staff are highly dedicated having indomitable commitment towards achievement of our mission and goals. Our college strikes a balance between teaching and learning. We act as facilitators and provide the much needed encouragement and support to the students, helping them to realize their potential and to achieve their goal.
